On 25 October 2022, Deputy Prime Minister Lawrence Wong announced that the public sector will lead the way for Singapore's decarbonisation journey by committing to achieve net zero emissions by 2045 under the GreenGov.SG initiative.

Jurong Lake District will also aim to achieve net zero emissions for new developments around 2045.

These revised climate targets and plans were announced at the Singapore International Energy Week (SIEW) 2022.
